If property in the education sector was in private hands its value would amount to hundreds of billions. The student accommodation market alone is worth £53 billion in 2019.
With the many changes fast running through the sector, driven by technology, demographics and Government immigration policies, it is inevitable that the buildings in their current configurations will evolve and change. Many campus's occupy inappropriate sites that could be considered either over-generous or too confined, sometimes with difficult transport links. Schools once located in thriving communities are now faced with a changing demographic whilst other others urgently need more space or relocation. The sector is always changing and the opportunities for the UK design and construction sector are enormous. |
Education Estates UK seeks to address the need for change in the way that schools, colleges and universities utilise their property assets to provide communities with the best response to the ways in which education is organised and delivered.
Our forums and debates, communications and other events will focus on relevant issues across all education bands: primary, secondary and tertiary, challenging accepted methodology and looking into the digital future.
These will be open to all with an interest in change, improvement and new ideas designed to both reflect and lead the evolution of the education experience in the UK.
Professional Partners
The Professional Partner Board of property professionals has expertise across the spectrum of services required for the successful design and delivery of the entire range of education related assets. It comprises representatives from across the design and delivery elements who meet regularly to exchange information, experience and contacts and discuss their responses to the changing order of current thinking.
Creative Innovation & Positive Intervention
We work on the basis that education is facing increasing challenges from technology, overseas student numbers and even natural demographic changes, that will impact the sector's estate across all education levels. Our EDUCATION INTEL events will highlight and discuss these challenges and opportunities, introducing new ideas and approaches of interest to Estates Managers, Directors and Bursars.
Collaboration
Modern working methods are embracing and encouraging more collaboration between professional partners as projects demand increasingly diverse expertise and clients demand wider ranges of services.
Education Estates UK is open to all professionals working in the sector and seeks to intentionally combine experts working in both the private and public sectors across primary, secondary and tertiary levels in order to foster cross fertilisation and provide solutions to new challenges.
